Greetings!!! Welcome to a new school year!!!
This is my 21st year teaching, my 10th year teaching at CHMS, and my 6th year as our school's ESL teacher. Wow . . . time flies when you're having fun!
In my former "teaching life" I taught Spanish for 12+ years. While I enjoyed teaching Spanish, I was ready for another challenge . . . to work with International students and help them master English. I studied hard for my certification and have found a new love and enthusiasm for teaching! Having the opportunity to serve the students at our school and help them on their journeys toward English fluency is definitely a privilege. But what's even more exciting for me is how much I have learned from them about their cultures and how inspired I am by their love and appreciation for learning!
On a personal note, I have a terrific family. I have been married (almost) 35 years to my wonderful husband, and I have 3 great (adult) kids and 2 wonderful sons-in-law. We love to hike, eat and watch the Panthers together, especially when they win!
I also enjoy reading and cooking. I play in a musical group at church and love to ride my bike!! In the fall of 2008, my husband and I went on a 300 mile bike ride in Oregon. It was an amazing trip! I love to travel - as a college student, I studied in 6 countries in South America and also in Spain. It was an unforgettable experience! You never know where the knowledge of a 2nd or 3rd language will take you!
